Sherio has faced various challenges in his life, but he hasn’t allowed them to change his positive outlook. Despite his circumstances, this lovely pooch has decided to offer support and solace to other foster pets. Sherio is aware of the anxiety that comes with adjusting to a new home, having gone through it himself. Although Sherio is now in a safe, affectionate setting, it wasn’t always like that.
Serio, who is both deaf and partially blind, has faced multiple challenges in finding a permanent residence. Despite being adopted four times in the past, he has been returned every time and has had to live in two shelters and 12 foster homes.
As the days passed, he eventually met Sheryl Smith. He felt grateful to have met her since she embraced him for all that he is, including his limitations.
Sherio is thrilled to have discovered a caring family. Ever since Smith adopted him, he has been determined to share his happiness and kindness with others. Sherio is committed to supporting all of the animals that Smith fosters, and he always tries his best to provide them with any assistance they need.
Sherio’s dedication to the well-being of helpless animals is remarkable. He goes the extra mile to make them feel safe and comfortable, showering them with tender kisses and a reassuring presence that makes them feel appreciated and loved.
During a chat with the Dodo, Smith revealed that he took care of a pregnant dog who was unwell and unable to care for her puppies, after rescuing Sherio. The heartwarming aspect is that Sherio became a caretaker to the puppies, soothing and cleaning them in his unique way. This loving nature of Sherio is not new to Smith, who has observed him patiently bonding with feral cats and kittens and earning their trust even before Smith does.
It’s no shock that Sherio takes great care of the animals he fosters given his own past experiences. Although he has found a forever home, Sherio still struggles with separation anxiety because of the tough times he faced before.
According to Smith, her son still gets anxious and cries when riding in the car because he fears being abandoned in an unfamiliar place. To help him feel more secure, Smith and her family are doing everything they can to build up his self-assurance.
